ECU’s high-profile and experienced investment team is responsible for all currency trading. The investment approach is based on macro-economic, fundamental and technical analysis, rigorous risk management and capital preservation.

 

Stephen Isaacs
Chief Executive Officer

Stephen Isaacs was appointed Chief Executive Officer of ECU in February 2011. Stephen was formerly a director of fixed income trading and syndication at Credit Suisse. He founded Zeliba Investments, a private equity fund, in 1996, and is Chairman of the Investment Committee at Alvine Capital, a specialist investment adviser. Stephen is a PPE graduate from Lincoln College Oxford. He holds an IMC level 3 and is also a CFA UK.

Head of Trading

Neil Staines
Neil is ECU’s Head of Trading. He was formerly co-founder and Head of Investment at 3D Currency Management. Neil graduated from UCL with a degree in Statistics, Computing, Operational Research and Economics and joined RBS specialising in FX. His primary experience is in proprietary trading, predominantly in FX, but he also has traded interest rate swaps, futures and options, emerging markets, equity indices and Government Bonds.
 

External Adviser

David Lavers
David Lavers is Group Treasurer at Jordan International Bank and was formerly Head of Trading at ECU. He has had an extensive career in investment banking and hedge funds, including working for the Soros group. David was a member of the Trading Committee and a Partner at Omega Advisers Inc and Deputy General Manager and Head of Treasury at Yamaichi Bank (UK).
